NaTerra Project - Water

Water has a fundamental importance for the maintenance of life on the planet, and therefore, discussing the relevance of knowledge about water in its various dimensions is to talk about the survival of the human species, the conservation and balance of biodiversity, and the interdependent relationships between living beings and natural environments.

Thus, water toys stimulate an appreciation for nature, as well as symmetry and balance.

These games that relate to the element of water generally involve fluidity and lightness, overcoming obstacles, and are about reducing rigidity and the traumas that remain in the body— the reprimands of a rigid, very logical, and mental education: "it is the fluidity of transitioning through knowledge with freedom" (Piorski).

In this sense, in addition to swimming in pools, beaches, seas, rivers, streams, lakes, and playing with sprinklers, activities also include playing with soft and sticky materials, molding clay, sliding on grass, or even spreading glue on hands and peeling it off once dry.

As a space that believes in Forest School pedagogy, we find it extremely important for children to learn about the properties of water from an early age, to learn to play with water, and that it should not be wasted due to its importance in Nature.

Therefore, from our mud kitchen to walks near small streams, we encourage children to explore and observe the life that water sustains and preserves.

...it is the fluidity of transitioning through knowledge with freedom
